Run England Awards - your chance to say thanks!

Making a nomination for the Run England Awards is your chance to thank those people whose efforts help create your experiences as runners and running group members.

The awards are held within the the England Athletics regional and national awards and you can get your nominations in at www.englandathletics.org/RE-Awards-2013.

We'd love to hear about your leader, your running group, or your project so that we, and other people, can celebrate everything that sees Run England making a difference to people's lives across England.

There are three categories of award, with each being presented in all of the nine England Athletics regions. The regional winners are then put forward as a shortlist for the national awards which will this year be held on Saturday 19 October as part of the England Athletics National Awards & Hall of Fame Ceremony at Hilton Metropole, NEC.

This evening also sees some of the great names in athletics gathered to be part of the Awards night which includes great athletes being inducted into the England Athletics Hall of Fame.

The England Athletics Regional and National Awards 2013 - of which the Run England Awards are part - are supported by Sweatshop, Athletics Weekly and the AAAs.

Last years winners who had their awards presented by Wendy Sly (an Olympic Silver medallist at 3000m and world road 10K champion - pictured above, left, presenting last year's Leader of the Year award) and Jack Buckner (a World Championships bronze medallist and European Champion).

By making a nomination in our 2013 Awards or voting in our 2013 Hall of Fame you will also be eligible to enter into a prize draw with our national Affiliation sponsor Sweatshop where you could win £100 of Sweatshop vouchers.

The categories

Run England Leader of the Year

Awarded to an individual who has successfully activated new runners at a local level, engaging a broad range of participants in their community.

Run England Group of the Year 

Awarded to a community running group that has sought to activate new runners but also make a positive and demonstrable contribution to other local causes engaging such partners as charities, race providers, clubs, schools, colleges or workplace activity.

Run England Project of the Year 

This project is aimed at County Sport Partnerships, local club networks, schools, colleges, corporate bodies or local authorities and seeks to recognise their commitment and investment in growing new runners at a local level by applying the Run England model.
