Couch2parkrun in 8 weeks

Congratulations to the 30 beginner runners who recently completed a 'Couch 2 5k' course delivered by Rebel Runners - Medway.
The 8 week course started back in January and the new runners followed a walk-run programme which gradually increased the length of time spent running over the 8 weeks. The sessions took place at 10am every Saturday directly after parkrun at Great Lines Heritage Park, Gillingham, Kent which helped the runners get a feel for where they would be running their final 5k in the eighth week.
The Club also offered a midweek session so that the beginners could do one of their 'homework' sessions with the support of a qualified Run Leader. Medals and certificates were presented to all the new runners on completing the Great Lines parkrun.
Jenny Baldock, Group Leader commented, "They've all done fantastically well and should be really proud of themselves. It's been very rewarding being part of their running journey and we look forward to helping them build on their running over the coming months."
