Tell us who your local heroes are
24 May 2016
We want your nomination for this year's England Athletics Regional and National Awards - they are now open so tell us who makes the difference to the sport in your community. The England Awards provide a unique opportunity to recognise the outstanding contributions made by these people who give their time, energy and expertise to our sport.
England Athletics Chief Executive Chris Jones said, "Athletics in all its forms is built on the efforts of those people who do such a magnificent job in communities across England. Every time I visit a club I meet a wide range of people with their own unique stories of what has inspired them to work so tirelessly in ways that bring benefits to so many people.
"Our awards nights at both regional and national level are an important opportunity to recognise some of the outstanding people we are so fortunate to have in our sport. But they are also important as they highlight the many other contributions of all those other people without whom athletics would not exist.
"I would encourage clubs, individuals and organisations to take a few moments to consider who they should nominate in at least one of the categories."
The awards are supported by Sweatshop, Track & Field Tours and the AAAs. The Awards programme includes nine English Regional Awards. Regions followed by the National Awards with the winner chosen from regional award winners across all categories.
You can nominate someone for an Award until Sunday 31 July 2016.
Please note: awards are decided based on the strength of nomination, only one nomination for each candidate is likely to be considered by judges. Please do not submit multiple nominations for the same candidate.
