It's feeling a lot like Christmas....in Coxheath, Kent
15 December 2015
On Sunday 13th December, a small village in Kent got a surprise visit from a very special person...actually 300 of them! The Santa Fun Run, which include a 2.5k route or a 5k route, was organised by Steve Grantham and his Team at 'Beginners2Runners', in association with the local charity: The Heart Of Kent Hospice.
The event brought together the 9 Beginners2Runners Clubs from across Kent to the village where it all began three years ago.
Steve Grantham, Founder of Beginners2Runners stated "Going from one small running club in Coxheath to 9 equally amazing clubs under the banner of Beginners2Runners has been an incredible journey. Today we came together as one club and hosted our first Santa Fun Run in the village where it all started. We couldn't have done it without all the hard work of the Marshals, the Run Leaders and Club Managers helping out along the route. Thank you to everyone who came along and I hope you had a great time".
Every participant was given a Santa suit to wear on the day and was awarded with a festive medal at the finish.
Lucy Tomlinson, Run Kent Activator commented "Events like the Santa Run are a great way to get the whole family involved in running and to raise much needed funds for a local charity. Steve and his team have done an excellent job of organising a fun, friendly, festive event. I'm sure it'll become a firm favourite in the local race calendar for many Christmas's to come!"
The Santa Fun Run may be over for another year but Steve is offering you the chance of getting hold of one of their festive medals by taking part in the Beginners2Runners Christmas Virtual Run.
Anyone can take part! All you have to do is purchase the medal at: www.beginners2runners.co.uk/shop/virtual-santa-run/ then, Run or Walk 5k between Monday 21st December and Friday 25th December and email proof to: email@example.com
