Mother and son reconnected through running
23 October 2015
Last week was the 1st Runniversary for Cathie Walsh who wanted to try to establish a shared interest with her son - and gave running a try.
It was one year to the day that Cathie went to her first Frampton Cotterell Harriers club night with 17 year old Noah. "I felt I was 'losing' him and wanted to establish a connection."
She is now 4 stone lighter, happier and content within herself and has met some amazing people. These same people will be helping her to train for her first half marathon next March!
Cathie told us, "I was the class clown in school PE and have always stated that I was NOT a runner or any kind of sportsman, I just didn't get it. But now I've undertaken the LiRF qualification and lead a Run England affiliated School Gate Running Club at my place of work, a local primary school ... who would have thought it?!"
Pictured is Cathie with her son and husband after their 5 mile Weston Prom Run.
