Celebrate #whywerun with Run England this summer!
29 July 2014
This summer Run England is inviting everyone to give running a go and celebrate all the great benefits that it has to offer. Whether it’s burning calories, saving money on the commute or relaxing and making new friends – the positives are endless.
Run England is the official England Athletics recreational running project which aims to support and encourage as many people as possible to start running.
So whether you're still wiping away the sweat from your first walk-jog-walk, or you're a seasoned runner, join us in celebrating #whywerun by sharing your running pictures on Twitter and Instagram. The best ones will be featured on our profiles daily and one lucky person will win a year’s subscription to Running Fitness magazine for the overall best #whywerun picture of the summer.*
There are also rewards and incentives to unlock by signing up to Run England. Current members already receive a £15 Sweatshop running shoes voucher as well as other offers sent out in our eRunner newsletter, but as an extra incentive everyone who signs up this summer will go into a prize draw, with one £100, two £50 and five £20 Sweatshop vouchers up for grabs!*
We’re especially encouraging those who are completely new to running to take part – so get running and celebrate your first ever run with us! For those who wish to take their first steps into running, Run England groups are all led by qualified Group Leaders who will support you every step of the way and are ideal for beginners who need the support, encouragement and motivation that they offer.
England Athletics’ Head of Participation Andy Anstey said: “Running is one of the best ways to improve your health and fitness and with the longer days and warmer weather, summer is the perfect time to start. Run England beginners’ groups – with qualified Group Leaders on hand to help you every step of the way – provide a friendly, sociable platform for anyone to turn up and find out why we run.”
So what are you waiting for? Accept the challenge this summer and join us at www.runengland.org/whywerun.
