Lead the way into spring!
14 March 2013
If you enjoy seeing others achieve and get a buzz from passing on your enthusiasm, then leading a running group may be for you... and spring is the time to take the first step!
All Run England registered groups are delivered by an insured and qualified leader, so that runners get all the help and support they need, and want to come back for more! All Run England group leaders have completed the Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification or an equivalent or higher endurance-related UKA-recognised qualification.
The one day LiRF course gives you the knowledge and tools you need to lead a running group, from how to address potential barriers that may face runners in getting started to how to provide varied and enjoyable sessions week after week with support and resources from Run England – including marketing, a dedicated page on our group finder map, online tools to help you manage your group, and membership benefits for your runners once signed up.
And you don’t need speed to lead! What you do need is the enthusiasm to help others – and Run England will support you in leading a running group, through our regional teams who are waiting for your call. With the arrival of spring and various mass participation events, April is one of our busiest months in training up new leaders as many are getting ready for the hundreds of new runners looking for support in what may be their first steps as a runner or in completing a charity challenge.
LiRF courses are very reasonably priced at only £110 per candidate, and there are also opportunities for subsidised course fees (while places are available – speak to your Area Coordinator) if you work to support your local County Sports Partnership with their local projects too.
