Time running out for groups to sign up for Try Athletics Days
20 March 2012
Time is running out for Run England groups to sign up to to host a Try Athletics Day to mark 100 days to go until the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012.
Run England groups are invited to simply open up their doors to the community for one time only in the week of 16th – 22nd April 2012. You can give your normal run or session extra emphasis and shine in the spotlight of the Games.
Many running groups have already signed up to host the events geared at giving athletics clubs and running groups the same opportunities to recruit more members and volunteers.
But with sign up closing on Sunday 25th March, there's not much time left for groups who haven't yet signed up, and it's an opportunity not to be missed.
In return for being part of the Try Athletics Days you will receive a resource pack to help promote your open session, have your event promoted through our partners, have access to exclusive discounts and be entered into a prize draw.
Hosting a Try Athletics Day and just opening up your session can benefit your running group in a number of ways:
- Recruit new members
- Increase your profile in the local community
- Have access to some rewards and be entered into a prize draw
- Be part of national campaign to get our sport and community ready for London 2012
- And most of all, help get more people active and enjoying running!
