‘Run For It’ group completes first race
22 July 2011
Run England Group ‘Run For It’ completed the Sheffield City Centre Race for Life earlier this month in times they never thought possible.
The running group of ladies who were all non-runners when they joined have been training with Group Leader Tracy Woodward for a number of months now.
They decided to take part in the Sheffield Race for Life and were amazed when all group members completed the 5k route between 31 and 39 minutes.
Tracy said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the ladies to be completing the race in such quick times.”
The group trains from Weston Park in Sheffield on Wednesdays at 5.40pm. If you live in this area and want a fun, friendly group to run with then pop down to see Tracy who will be more than happy to get you started!
Where ever you live, if you want to take your first steps into regular running, you can use the Group Finder map to find your nearest group, and remember, Run England is absolutely free to join.
