RunTogether launches social media campaign in support of better mental health

RunTogether has long supported Runners and Run Leaders with improving mental health. The most sort-after benefits of running in groups are social connectivity, friendships and fun. All these benefits play a key role in our mental health.

But in these challenging times, mental health is more of a challenge for many of us. Even not being able to run in a group is a challenge. However, many of our groups interact virtually and or runners ‘buddy up’ and run 1:2:1, as allowed under Government restrictions. RunTogether still supports our existing community as well as new runners with access to mental health champions; and while #RunAndTalk isn’t in a group format, you can still experience the benefits of running and talking with one other.

Our campaign also directs people to our new web page where you can find tools such as a Wellbeing Countdown Calendar, organisations that can help, and advice and resources - especially regarding Covid-19 and mental health - as well as information from our partner Mind.
