The National Trust's Speke Hall’s first Trust10 event took place recently and has been announced as a massive success with 59 participants.

Rachael Hanlon - Sports Development Officer at Speke Hall, plus other staff members have been working closely with England Athletics' Merseyside Activator Nikki Holding to launch and develop the Trust10 concept across National Trust properties.

Trust10 is a free, monthly, 10k trail running event held across selected National Trust sites, open to both members and non-members.  It is aimed to be a concept suitable for beginners and more advanced runners (couch to 10k concept) that allows people to run freely a route with no real pressure in getting timed.  Trust10 hope to to complement Parkrun locally and offer a clear progression pathway in getting Liverpool people active.

The Speke Hall route is a 10k and is not marshalled, but the route is mapped with way markers and flags for guidance. The onsite Stable Tea Room will be open for hot and cold refreshments, tea cakes and toast.

T10 participation is increasing per event and so the organisers hope to  achieve and obtain over 200 people per event.  The next free event is on Sunday 27 December with a 9am race start time, and the runs will continue on every fourth Sunday of each month.

Speke Hall also hosts three Run England 3-2-1 routes.

The event is also looking for T10 sport volunteers to add support in getting the event set up and cleared away.  If you know anyone that might be interested please get them to contact Rachael.Hanlon@nationaltrust.org.uk.

To register, email Rachael.Hanlon@nationaltrust.org.uk (closes Friday 18 December and then we advise that people book on the day).  Registration is open for pre-registered runners 8:45am to 8:55am and for non-registered runners 8:35am and closes at 8:45am. We advise that all runners arrive dressed (wear warm clothing for registration) and wear appropriate running / trail footwear.
